Sorry to rehash old threads, but I have a question regarding the PIMs change in the rules, I must have missed it, and the thread has been locked (sorry to clutter the sub-forum) Here is the OG thread: Rule 1.2 Suggested Change - PIM fantasy pointsPer OP (FlyersGM at the time), the move was to change .5 to .2 worth, which is something when I was reading the thread I agreed with wholeheartedly. I completely agree with the sentiment, PIMs negatively impact teams, but yet is it not still part of the game? I feel it would be a bit premature simply to do away with PIMs entirely, and would support scoring them at .2 or even .1, as long as they are still a stat. Whether you believe in fighting/hitting in the game or not, it is still a part of the game, it has nothing to do with fool words like "sissy" or "manly" ....regardless of opinions, I feel it should not be removed entirely for its impact it still has on our game. What then, should we take hits out as well, since they at times create a detriment to teams when it results in a penalty? Rewarding a guy with a hit even though it was an ugly one? It is just my .02 cents, but I feel there should be some remnant left, even were it a meager .1 points. What do you all feel? Thanks, Phil

I'd like to see 1 pt per fight if fantrax supports it, and .2 per pim.
A fight would score 2 pts overall.

Yep, being a fight fan I'd love to see a fight score for 2pts

PIM has been removed via the rule change. If you would like to start a new vote you can but it won't but reinstated until 16-17 season.
Only paid fantrax supports fights.

Since we're not in a rush and several of those who voted are no longer in the league, can we get a recount? Hah I wasn't able to vote on it and the thread was locked, could we perchance re-open the vote again as not half the league even voted....I'm sorry to bring it up again I'm not trying to be a dick I just don't want to be too hasty is all.
Thank you!
No fights then, just a vote on whether or not PIM is a cat

Yes you can open a new thread and vote on the rule change. I'm sorry you weren't in the league at the time but it passed with the members we had.
Edit: Part of the reason it was chosen was because 3rd/4th line guys had same fantasy points as 2nd liners.

I was invited to the league 6/27, I was certainly a member then. I didn't vote but now that a percentage of the voters that were for it passing have left, I strongly feel that it should be reviewed again and a vote recast. For the points pertaining to this year, no? Again, I am sorry to stir the pot, but please, correct me if I am wrong - it shouldn't matter with the members you had, this league is not comprised of those members and their votes should be recast. In my own personal opinion? Perhaps I am incorrect in my own assumptions

I'm not sure if we change this now as it changes the value of players. Maybe we wait until after the draft to put it to vote but I personally feel we shouldn't be voting on or changing anything that involves scoring in the middle of the draft.

Minny i understand what youre saying.
This league is built on a democratic structure tho and even tho many of the members arent in the league, their votes still counted at the time.
It was a concern to the admins and other GMs that players like Steve Downie were equal to 1st or 2nd line wingers. It made a lot of sense to abbolish PIMs to make the player pool (fantasy points) more representative of player's actual values.
You are free to reopen a thread, but any rule change of this nature won't be implemented until 16-17 season because it changes the value of players already drafted.

So if I understand this correctly, the PIM rule change we voted on won't be in place until next year too? So this season we are playing with the original PIM rule?

No. Any rule change before the draft is implemented this season. Any rule change after the beginning of draft begins next season. (There are exceptions for very important changes like the contract clarification)
