To CAR: Dustin Byfuglien - $5,200,000 (15-16)
To DET: 2016 1st round pick 2017 1st round pick Hurricanes 8th round selection in expansion draft
I feel that the players I want will be available to me later on and I love the fact that I get to pick up two first round picks and an early selection in the 8th round. Lots of good players are available still.

Hurricanes confirm the trade.
I gave up a good amount, especially for the future, but with Byfuglien sitting there in the 4th round it was hard to pass up. I was able to acquire my number 1 dman as I build my team to make a run for the cup.

Certainly a heavy price, but Big Buff is a productive versatile guy on a good team. Red Wings have a set core and a ton of draft picks now. Approve (1-0).
Edit: Let me know if I'm doing this wrong

One of those that we won't fully be able to judge until much later on, but IMO the value is there. Detroit gets some nice picks, and Carolina gets a player who brings a certain skill set. Good deal, guys. (2-0)
(What Pens said, if this is wrong let me know)

Approved (3-0)
Carolina pays a steep price considering how many quality prospects might be available during the rookie draft, but as we all know most of the draft is gambling.
Byfuglien can be a game changer all by himself, I understand the move from both parts, thus I see no reason to refuse it.
Good job guys.

Big Buff is easily worth this asking price considering his ability to be slotted at RW and D on Frantrax which ups his value automatically. The two first round picks is steep, yet a fair price to pay for such a player. Wings moving down a few rounds and getting two first round prospect picks is definitely a solid return as well. Great deal for both parties involved.
(as the boys said before, if anything I say here is done wrong please let me know!)

Approve (5-0)
Carolina gets a solid #1 defenseman in Byfuglien, who is very valuable in this league because of his goal scoring ability and his toughness.
Detroit gets two prospect picks that can turn out to be a very good profit, but also might not end up being the best. Getting the 8th round expansion pick helps to make up for the semi high risk/high reward of the prospect picks.
Overall a good trade between the two, and can't really be judged on who the winner will be until after picks are made. At this point it could go either way.
